The “Big Beautiful Bill” isn’t just numbers on a page. It’s shifting our nation’s resources to pad the pockets of the rich — while everyone else gets left behind.

Forbes: The Big Beautiful Bill
And The High Cost Of Short-Sighted Fiscal Policy
Aisha’s latest contribution to Forbes is out. You can read the full article here.

“In the end, the “Big Beautiful Bill” is a misnomer. Its legacy is instead set to be the creation of a larger deficit, greater inequality, and higher long-term costs for American society. If the goal is a more efficient and effective government, the real path forward lies in preserving—and strengthening—investments in health, nutrition, and opportunities for all Americans, not just the fortunate few.”

SNAP Testimonies Part One
We are following closely the proposals in Congress to cut back the dollar amount of benefits that people all across Mississippi, and the country, would experience if the new budget bill passes. The people who would be affected by any reductions in SNAP benefits aren’t just statistics on spreadsheets. They’re real parents with real families in real places.
We asked some of our moms in the current cohort for The Magnolia Mother’s Trust to tell us what cuts to their SNAP benefits would do to their families and change how they provide for their kids each month. Take a listen.
