
A new proposal going through Congress would essentially give every child born in the United States a savings account that they can access at age 18. Sounds helpful, right?
Not so helpful when families cannot currently meet their basic needs to raise a family. The savings account cannot be used for diapers, groceries, school supplies, or other costs that pop up when you have children. And our families need help now.
We did a quick overview of this policy proposal and highlighted the perspective of two of our moms in The Magnolia Mother’s Trust in their struggle to make choices for their basic needs and their kids in this economy.
